Many new images were gathered and the results a unique look at this animal. Many of the images were above and below water views that drew in the natural backdrop of the Everglades. You can view a sampling by searching on "alligators" in the data base section.

Palau Photo Festival and Yap
May 2003

In May I returned after 8 years to the islands of Palau, this is one of my favorite place on this planet. I was a judge and lecture at the first annual Palau underwater photo festival. You can view the results at http://www.visit-palau.com/new.html For a week divers form all over world gathered to explore the wonders of Palau. I was able to dive and take a few photos myself! Thanks to good friends Tova and Novote Owners of Fish and Fins and also Kevin Davidson of KD photo for providing excellent logistic support. The event went off without a hitch was one of the best I have ever attended. This hopefully will become an annual event and I hope to again go back next year. During the festival I was also able to visit and photograph at the Dolphin Pacific facilty located in Palau. They have a very well run swim with dolphin program that should be the model for others to follow.

For many years I wanted to visit the island of Yap and the famous manta rays. After the festival I was able to stop for a few days on Yap and visit with Bill Acker of Manta ray Bay resort. Manta Ray Bay Divers Hotel and resort . Bill was a wonderful host and in the short 3 days I was in Yap took me on some outstanding dives. i will have to make it back someday.
